Strangers We Meet

Strangers We Meet
See that lighthouse before you…
See that light up ahead…
See the stars as they shimmer
and shine over-head.
Hear the wandering river…
Hear the birds overhead…
Hear the bells of the ungallant,
spring in your head…
(CH)
And it’s hard to remember
the strangers we meet
when we’re all washed away
in the rain…
Feel the earth underneath you
(ground were you live)
Feel the sun overhead
(burn in’ down everyday)
Feel the warmth of your love
as you lie in your bed…
Oooo..Oohhh..
(CH)
(BR)
Memories fade
(I can not see through this)
away in the rain
(just have to watch as we)
fade away
(CH)
all washed away in the…rain…..
all washed with
all washed away
all washed away
all washed away….(all washed away)
in the rain
in the rain
Ooooo

House On The Hill

House On The Hill
Built in 1932, a little house for me and you
To start our family
Newlyweds, broke but happy, just trying to save our pennies
We don’t need that much
CH:
In the house on the hill, Our love is growing
In the house on the hill, We’re sheltered from the wind
In the house on the hill, We’re making memories
In the little white house that sits so quiet and still
Moving you from your home, leaving everything you’ve know,
for a mountain full of dreams
I can’t give you all that much, All I have to give is love
I hope that’s enough
CH:
Bridge:
We’re sheltered from the wind but not the storm
The clouds will blow in then they will go
As long as we learn how to bend
The love within these walls will keep us warm
CH:
End…

Turtle Mountain

Turtle Mountain
VS 1
The Blackfoot called it Turtle,
the mountain that walks.
They never laid their heads down,
in the shadow of that rock.
In April nineteen 0h three,
at four in the mournin’
the town’s folk we’re fast asleep.
They never had “no” warnin’
CH
The Mountain came tumblin’ down,
Turtle Mountain came tumblin’ down.
In the blink of an eye, no time to cry,
The mountain came tumbling’ down
VS 2
An engineer and his two brakemen,
were droppin’ their last coal car.
When he saw the mountain begin to shake,
the whole world and even the stars
He screamed “Get back on board this train boys,
if you wanna live through this night!”.
He put the hammer down, it nearly left the ground,
and tore off into the night.
VS 3
One hundred million tons of rock,
pushing a wall of fridged air,
buried alive that mining town,
as if it were never there.
From McCloud, the Spokane Flyer,
was barreling’ down the line.
The brakemen knew, what they had to do,
to stop that train in time
VS 4
They had to climb over the rubble,
had to get, to the other side,
over rocks as big a buildings,
as creators as big and wide

Over The Moon

Over The Moon
It's more than the way I love
my morning coffee...
More than the thrill I get
when I drive too fast...
Is this really love?..
Cause I'm over the moon..
It's more than the feeling I get
when birds are singing.
This must be love...
I'm over the moon
(Bridge)
When you smile at me
and you sing…the sweetest tunes …
When you play for me,
my heart goes boom boom boom..
That's just how we are
when we're together,
just two sweethearts from some old-fashioned tune.
Like Tarzan and Jane,
we're swinging' over the moon
(Solo)
(Bridge)
(Tag)
So Hey! Diddle-Diddle!
We're jumpin' right over the moon

Moondancer

Moondancer … Ian Tyson
VS 1
Late in the autumn I’ve often seen her,
on nights the river is still.
There in the moon mist she waits for her lover,
and she has, and she always will.
CH
Cry’in Old Moondancer take me along.
Fly me to the stars on your Moondancer’s song.
I’ve bin so lonely, I’ve waited only, for you.
VS 2
The old people tell you, she once was so lovely,
her beauty could turn night to day.
Down to the river, the Moondancer rode in
and promised to take her away.
CH 2
VS 3
The concertina kept time, with old Cajun song and rhyme,
he sang her his Mondancer song.
Then came the fight, there were knives in the night.
But who knows, cause it’s bin so long?

You Don't Even Know

You Don’t Even Know!
CH
You stole my heart…and you didn’t even know.
have..absolutely..no idea
that I love you so…
I can’t spill the beans and tell you,
cause’ I’m still chicken.
So for now, I’ll be…your best friend,
and your kissin’ I’ll keep missin’
VS 1
The other week…we all went camping,
a bunch of friends, for a night.
We had our campfire just a blazing,
under stars and moonlight.
When you sang your song so sweetly,
I felt the magic in the air.
Then you turned and looked right through me,
as if I wasn’t there…
CH 2
VS 2
Well, last night..we had a show to play,
just a set with the band.
But the stage was just a little too high,
so I reached to take your hand.
Well, I felt the spark burn in me,
from my fingers to my heart.
But again, you looked right through me,
sayin’ I think it’s time we start”
CH 2
Bridge
Well nobody said love would be easy,
and I know it's all my fault that you don't know.
So I'm tryin' to find some words that aren't too cheesy,
maybe if I close my eyes when I yodel...

By The Mark

|

By The Mark
When I cross over
I will shout and sing
I will know my Savior
By the mark where the nails have been
By the mark where the nails have been
By the sign upon His precious skin
I will know my Savior when I come to Him
By the mark where the nails have been
(turn)
A man of riches
May claim a crown of jewels
But the King of Heaven
Can be told from the prince of fools
(Chorus)
(solo)
On Calvary's Mountain
Where they made Him suffer so
All my sin was paid for
A long, long time ago

The Hills Of Grey County

|

The Hills Of Grey County
VS 1
See tree for miles, from top of this hill.
That old Saugeen River, winds through here still.
Where horse-drawn plows outnumber machine,
and man and the land work as a team.
PRE
But surveyors have been here to widen the roads.
Guess our dirt paths around here, won’t carry their loads.
CH 1
What can we do, what can we say,
if we let em’ take the hills of Grey County away.
Some will get rich, but who’s gonna pay,
If we let em’ take the hills of Grey County away.
VS 2
There’ll come an army of trucks, kicking’ dust in the air,
guarded by some lawyers, from their big city chairs.
It’s gravel they want, but not all that they’ll take,
then leave us with nothin’
but the hole that they’ll make.
CH 2
Bridge
How can we stand by and let this go on.
One minute paradise, next one it’s gone.
CH 3
So tell me, What can we do, what can we say,
if we let em’ take the hills of Grey County away.
Some will get rich, but who’s gonna pay?
If we let em’ take the hills of Grey County away.
Please don’t let em’ take the hills,
of Grey County away

Old Alberta Moon

Old Alberta Moon
When the sun sets over the Rockies,
stars come shinin’ through.
An old coyote calls, callin’ out the moon.
The cattle start to settle down,
making sure they have a view.
The stage is set for an Old Alberta Moon
That’s when I grab my gal and we ride out into heaven.
Sometimes it seems like this whole world was made for me.
As the horses play a hoot owl say’s Hoot Hoot,
in a tall pine tree.
You sure can’t beat an Old Alberta Moon
Well, sometimes it seem so far away,
just a sliver in the sky.
And times it a great big red balloon,
you could rope it if you’d try.
That when my Sweetheart’s eyes start to sparkle,
and I can’t help but swoon.
You sure can’t beat an Old Alberta Moon.
You know that I was born to be, riding’ fences.
Chain’ cows all around up and down,
was no silver spoon.
But each night when I look up it fills all my senses.
You sure can’t beat an Old Alberta Moon
Yeah, tonight when I look up, I’ll fill all my senses.
You sure can’t beat an Old Alberta Moon

That’s How I learned To Sing The Blues
People ask me, when I sing the blues,
how did I learn, what method did I use.
Though I’d tell you how my friend,
it’s not the way I’d recommend.
You find a good love and treat her wrong,
then be sorry about it when she’s gone.
You’ll cry come back and she’ll refuse.
That’s how I learned to sing the blues.
Now people pay to hear me sing my songs,
the mournful melody of love gone wrong.
While the blues have brought me wealth,
I find I can’t sing nothin’ else.
I’ve lost a love I can’t replace, with every song I sing
I see her face
No it’s not the way I’d choose.
That’s how I learned to sing the blues.
And a night, while other lovers hold their true loves tight.
I hold another but it’s just not right,
it’s only memories I crave.
And in the dawn, just for a moment I forget your gone
and reach to hold you in the cold grey light.
But only find the feelings that I use to sing these blues.
My advise while you have a choice,
is do some exercises with your voice.
When you sing, cry every word,
flat the seventh and the third.
You can sound as if you’re sad.
Don’t be a fool and treat your good love bad.
You’ll gain less than you loose.
That’s how I learned to sing the blues…
